Yoga Retreat at A Temple

10th-17th November 2019

Join Julia Monosova and Gait Jitnitta for a very special and unique yoga retreat at a highly spiritual and sacred location just outside of Bangkok.

During this unique 8 days/7 nights retreat, we will go deeper in the daily yoga and meditation practice, enjoy a blissful massage treatment, discover the beautiful countryside by hiking, soaking in hot springs and enjoying waterfalls. We will take a trip to a Floating Market, visit famous Wat Tamai Buddhist Temple and celebrate Loi Krathong (Lantern Festival) together. We will stay with monks at a serene Buddhist Meditation Center, Dharmastan Vimoksiwalai, nestled away in the mountains.

Dharmastan Vimoksiwalai (aka Vimok) is located in the mountains and is a perfect location for a tranquil and restful Yoga retreat. It is a highly spiritual and sacred location and is about 3 hours away from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok. The immediate surrounding area is exquisite and ideal for daily yoga practice and meditation, walking or just relaxing!!! Click on the picture above for a slideshow.

Almost every day there will be morning (Hatha/Vinyasa) and evening (Yin) yoga sessions including pranayama, asana, meditation and deep relaxation. The setting is quiet, rustic and an ideal place for tranquil practice. This week will give our guests the opportunity to practice yoga in an environment which is calm and relaxing. Each individual will have the opportunity to practice at his/hers own level, making the week suitable for students of different abilities and those who may have practiced other yoga disciplines.

This retreat is suitable for all levels including beginners.

All meals are Thai cuisine lovingly prepared by a local chef. Brunch, midday snack and early dinner will be cooked using fresh local ingredients and produce. For special diets, please contact us directly.

Gait Jitnitta is a Thai yogini, a true Buddhist, an Entrepreneur, a CEO of Ramaya Laboratories Company which its goal is to support the charity and community,  a committee of Sirisaro Foundation, a foundation in which focusing on helping poor children and seniors and those from rural area who suffer from illness.

Gait grew up in a Temple which has now become one of the most well-known Temples in Thailand, Wattamai, as a spiritual sister of the abbot, one of the most prominent Buddhist monk  in Thailand.

“I consider the yoga retreat at Wat Vimok a truly unique and special experience. It includes yoga asana classes, but involved so many more branches of yoga such as karma yoga, bhakti yoga, raja yoga, etc. My intention for attending this retreat was to experience life in a temple and this experience exceeded my expectations. I appreciated that, for the most part, temple life continued despite our presence, and we were simply visiting without interrupting the usual flow of life there.

I felt incredibly lucky to be involved in the various activities and festivals with an “insiders” look into the workings of these different events. It was wonderful to have Gait telling us what was happening and why we were doing certain things at certain times in regards to the various ceremonies. All the people we interacted with and had contact with were so incredibly warm and welcoming and I always felt like I was being taken care of and looked out for. I have been to Thailand a few times, but have even more of an appreciation of Thai life and the rich Thai culture.

This retreat has also sparked an interest in Buddhism for me and has given me a renewed sense and purpose to develop and be more consistent with a meditation practice. Loy Krathong was the highlight and a day I will never forget, but overall all the days of this retreat are a period of time I will always hold close to my heartes here.”
